Janet Louise Hildebrand

September 22, 1941 - May 26, 2017

Janet Louise Hildebrand, age 75, former resident of Detroit and Sterling Heights, passed away at her home in Walled Lake on May 26, 2017.

Beloved wife of the late Lyle Edwin Hildebrand; loving mother of Brian (Lesley) Hildebrand and Julie (Harvey) Rippy; proud grandmother of Brandon, Joshua and Sarah Rippy, and Luc, Marc and Eric Hildebrand; sister of Sharon Larson and Barbara (Bill) Harry.

Jan was born in Detroit to the late Ralph and Charlotte Mieseler. The family moved to Hillman, Mich, where she lived until age 13, when the family moved back to Detroit. Jan graduated from Redford High School; and graduated from Grace Hospital School of Nursing, affiliated with Wayne State University. She worked for over 30 years mainly as an emergency room nurse and finished as a patient advocate at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan.

Jan was a long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Warren, and volunteered in various church functions. In her leisure time, Jan enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting. After Lyle passed, Janet moved in with her mother to care for her until her passing at age 93. Jan became a member of Hope Lutheran Church, and regularly attended weekly bible study sessions there. She was always her happiest spending time with her family and cherished grandkids.
