Phyllis Calcaterra Cobb
1941-2020
Mrs. Phyllis Cobb, 78, of Owenton, formerly of Knox County, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the LECOM Senior Living Center in Erie, PA. She was the daughter of the late Philip A. and Bernice Bray Calcaterra born on June 16, 1941 in Norway, MI.
Phyllis was a homemaker and a member of the Old Poplar Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and spending time with her children and grandchildren. On June 12, 1965, she united in marriage with Marvin Cobb. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; a brother-in-law, Richard Brabant.
Survivors include her dearly loved children, Marvin Cobb and wife, Sharon, Philip Cobb and wife, Christina, Marrianne Bruce and husband, Christopher, and Debbie Burris and husband, Eddie; two sisters Sharon Brabant and her children, Ricky Brabant, Sherri Hughes and husband, Robert, and Mary Kay Farris and husband, John, and their children, J. W. Farris, Josh Farris and Marly Rausch and husband, Lance; a brother, Louis Calcaterra and wife, Michelle; her dearly loved grandchildren, Joanne Bruce, Savannah Cobb, Brianne Bruce, Danielle Bruce, Matthew Meagher, McKinlee Cobb, Jessica Niemi and husband, Stan, and Jeremy Burris; great grandchildren, Madison and Gabriella Cottner; many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A private family funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, April 24 with Rev. Terry Broughton officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Cobb Cemetery. Casket bearers will be her family.
