Lee Ann Hendry (Teagan)

Lee Ann Hendry (Teagan)

LEE ANN TEAGAN

BELOVED WIFE, PROUD MOTHER and GRANDMOTHER,
DEVOTED SISTER, TEACHER, and FRIEND TO ALL
1942 - 2011

It is with great sadness that we make this CaringBridge journal entry. Lee Ann passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011, at her home in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
She was born Lee Ann Hendry on June 30, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to James and Mildred Hendry, the youngest daughter of three children. She was a graduate of Redford High School in Redford, Michigan and earned a degree in education from Western Michigan University.
Lee Ann poured out her life in service to others.  She created a home of warmth, love and hospitality where her ever-widening circle of family and friends always felt welcome.  She was an eager and thoughtful hostess, who sought to create a perfect atmosphere to make everyone truly feel at home.

Her life of service extended beyond home. Mrs. Teagan taught preschool at Troy Co-op Preschool for 37 years making a lasting impression on over 1,400 children and their families.  She also shared generously of her gifts and time with church and community.
She loved the beach, and spending time at her house in Charlevoix, MI. She will be remembered for her welcoming smile, her kind words, her wisdom, her warm heart, her giving nature and her principled character.

She is survived by her husband, of 48 years, Tim, her children Shawn (Deb) and Lori Ann Rumel (Mike), grandchildren Merrick and Lane Ann Rumel and sister Neva Rose Kehrer.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, February 16, 2011, from 3-8 PM at Price Funeral Home, 3725 Rochester Road, Troy, MI 48083 (between Wattles and Big Beaver Roads)
The funeral service will be Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church of Troy, 6363 Livernois Road, Troy, Michigan, with Rev. Deborah Teagan and Rev Hal Weemhoff officiating. Visitation at the church begins Thursday at 10:00 AM.
Inurnment will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
We thank you all for your support through this web site over the past ten months. Your messages kept Lee Ann going even on the hardest of days and we continued to read Lee Ann the kind, thoughtful words posted in her CaringBridge guestbook up to the end.

Through the years, Lee Ann was a Vetal Elementary and Redford High School classmate, and a good friend who served as a committee member in helping to plan all of our reunions.  The Caring Bridge posting by her husband Tim and family is a great tribute in celebrating Lee Ann's life.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Tim and his family.

While I did not know Lee Ann well, I truly enjoyed the times we got together on the Reunion Committee and wished I'd gotten to know her sooner and longer.  She was a delightful individual and, through her illness, showed her indomitable spirit.  I am sure she lived life to it's fullest through the end.  She will be missed.

With deepest sympathy to Lee Ann's family and friends.

Lee Ann fought hard to remain with us.  She loved big and received love and respect back.
She's been a blessing in the lives of many, and God will bless her for all eternity ... we can't ask for more.  Rest in peace, Lee Ann ... I expect to see you again.

I remember Lee Ann well.  We were second or third cousins and dated a few times.  Of course we always sat next to each other.
