Ken Barna

I met Terry while playing a pick-up hockey game at Hope Park.  The City of Detroit would flood a part of the park near Puritan Street, and we played hockey there when we were freshmen and sophomores at Redford.

Terry lived on the street behind the park (don't remember the name), anyway, as I said that's how we met.  Later we tried to get Terry to try out for our team in an organized league that the Detroit Recreation Department sponsored, but he declined.

We were never close friends, but would see each other in classes, or passing through the halls of Redford.  He always wore a smile on his face, and seemed to be a nice guy, and would talk with you about anything, but as I said, we just really did not connect as close friends.  I never saw him after graduation.  Hope he had a nice life.

Terry was a good friend of mine especially in high school and a few years after We went out cruising many times in his Oldsmobile 88 usually to Geiger's and got some french fries with ketchup that were his favorite and checked out the chicks and the music. There were a lot of great tunes in the late 50s and early 60s. We loved cranking up the radio and cruising. Terry loved American bandstand, Chuck Berry, and dancing. He wasn't quite as good at poker and would get quite irritated with me when I won and he didn't. He was also very upset about Redford losing the1957 city football championship.
