This is Mary Brecht Larivee-Jacobs speaking.  I forgot this would come through under Ken's name

Julie & I were good friends & sorority sisters at Redford.  I saw her at the 50th reunion Friday night event (as I'm from class of '60).  We also met for lunch a couple of times - once before the reunion & once after the reunion.  I was unable to attend the Friday night reunion last year due to surgery.  Now I'm sorry I didn't get to see her again.  She was a dear.  I was happy to be able to attend her funeral service.

Juli or Julie, she accepted either spelling, was a sweet and fun classmate at Redford. Happy and enthusiastically she worked on our reunion committee too. I'm sad for our loss and, most definitely, for all her family and friends who loved her.

Julie was indeed a good friend of mine in high school, even though I went to Redford for my senior year only. I was so fortunate to reacquaint with her at the 50th reunion.  My sincere condolences to her family.  Her spirit and smile will not be forgotten.

So saddened to hear of Julie's passing. Sending caring thoughts and sympathy to Julie's family. I remember how I enjoyed seeing her at the 50th Reunion. I'll always remember her smile and caring, bubbly personality and some fun times at Redford.  Fondly, Barb Sargent Rafford

So sorry to lose another classmate.  My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.  Didn't know Julie personnally but just in passing.  At Redford class of 1959 it seemed we were all family.

Mary Brecht Larivee-Jacobs (Jan. '60) posting:

I went to Julie's funeral.  It was a lovely service.  On the "In Memory" card by the guestbook sign in table, she had chosen the following:

I'd like the memory of me     To be a happy one.

I'd like to leave an afterglow     Of smiles when life is done.

I'd like to leave an echo whispering     Softly down the ways.

Of happy times and laughing times    And bright sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve    To dry before the sun.

Of happy memories that I leave       When life in done.

It sounds like Julie, doesn't it?

Having just read of Julie's passing I am very saddened.  Julie and I were dear friends all through grammar and high school.  We kept in touch after college but then years passed.  At the 50th reunion we picked up just like we had just had dinner the day before.  I know she was so very excited about her grandson.  Remembering her smile and wonderful laughter and many fond memories growing up makes me smile!

I missed the post last year year of Julie's passing and send my prayer's to her family and many friends. We were good friend's in grade school at Holcomb   and celebrated Birthday's together as young girls. Lot's of good memories and fun times. At the Friday night gathering of Holcomb for the 50th.Reunion, she came up to greet me with a huge smile and hug. We reminisced over the evening about our lives and our families. What a wonderful evening that was. She will be greatly missed.

Well, I don't do a lot of commenting but I felt like wanted to say something to/for/about Julie.  My last reunion was the 35th!!!  And Julie was an important part of making that reunion a pleasant experience.  She was so full of such positive energy.  It was infectious. She had such a vibrant personality and such a warm and open nature.  When I picture her, I see this smile.   That is how I remember her...smiling.    It's such a special gift, a sincere and welcoming smile.  It is a gift of acceptance, not judgment and I am sure Julie must have given out a whole of them over her life time.  What a nice legacy! Bye, Julie.  Keep those smiles coming out there in the great beyond.  Maybe that's what helps to make the sunshine.
