How could anyone forget Fred Piet? Larger than life, always jolly, funnier than anyone, could recite Lenny Bruce routines verbatim, very proud of his Polish-Armenian heritage (or was it Polish-Lebanese?) and he could do jokes in both languages. We used to do routines together (I think I remember we even did a drag show one time in the lunchroom), but I was just along for the ride, Fred was the real talent. He was taken from us far, far too early -- not too long after we graduated as I remember -- a tragic loss to the world.

You are right about his personna Steve and let me confirm that he was Polish/Lebanese.Fred's Mom,Linda.and my Mom were close friends and along comes this totally funny, zany guy who could endear himself to Dracula if he had to!

We were just getting to know one another in our early twenties and he decied to cut things off by dying on all of his loyal fans, including me.

Fred...you were Mr. One of a Kind and are missed by all who had the pleasure of your company!

When I clicked on this to make a comment on Fred...
the words that first came to mind were 'How could anyone forget Fred Piet?' Then the page opened up, and there our own Steve Stockmeyer had said just that.

Butch Howie went on to say: "Fred, you were 'Mr. One of a Kind' and are missed by all who had the pleasure of your company!" Again, as near as possible to what my farewell words were going to be.

You two guys did a perfect job of describing Fred, and I'm confident all who knew and loved him will go to their own grave remembering him. He was not one to be easily forgotten. I know I never have, and I can't recall the fun times without smiling; Fred would be glad of that.

Linda

I remember Fred's graduation party. What a blast. Knew Fred only a short time but will miss him at the reunion.
