The Group at Desert Peak Observatory.

The Group at the Talking Stick Golf Club.

David Clow did spend much time and effort informing classmates about these Mini Reunions.  David Ludington & John Herrold presented the above in honor of his stellar efforts.  Signatures of all in attendance were on the matting.

Thanks, John, for posting the pictures and hosting an amazing star show, not us but those guys in the sky.  Thanks to Ardis, who put up with a bunch of 68 year olds or there abouts who acted like 4th graders and thought we were hilarious. Thanks to David Clow for contacting these people. Thanks to David Ludington for getting the luncheon organized. Thanks for those back in Michigan who put this all together. Thanks to the web master, Ken Kelsey. Thanks to the Maricopa/Pinal County Sheriffs for not giving me a speeding ticket yet........keep ya posted. I got another zap* after the Sunday Luncheon. Two *zaps in two days, give me a break.

Cathy:

Did the speeding tickets you were concerned about ever get issued?  We need to be updated on your transgressions!    Some of us here in Arizona go by these automatic speed traps nearly daily and need to know what happened.

Hey John,

What has it been about 6/7 weeks.? I got nothing, nada. But than I was afraid to go to the mail box for awhile; still a little reluctant. I would say if I hadn't gotten any by now I/we in AZ. are in the clear so get outta the way.  I'll let you know if my status as a scofflaw changes.

Dear PCCL:

For those other classmates wondering why Cathy & I are using this method to E-Mail one another, understand automatic photography using remote sites of speeders is becoming endemic in Arizona.  We want to make sure other RHS 59ers know this when visiting AZ.  The I-10 route between Tucson & Phoenix is notorious, but the posted speed limit is 75 MPH in most areas  (other than construction zones) so it is not just another speed trap unless one has a lead foot.  We would not know anyone in this category.

Hey, you calling me a lead foot.....Ha.  Here's the deal when you have a real person of the law pull you over you can interract; like you were on my tail and I had to get outta the way, or I have to go to the bathroom or I'm hurrying to my ailing Mother, or I couldn't have been speeding, I'm eating my dinner, or follow me and you can check my cruise  control, etc., I've got them all....BUT when you incounter a camera, I've got nothing, no fun, no game.

Dear PCCL:

Lets face the facts.  You have something no male can aspire to attain and can effectively utilize it with the real people in uniform.  That is, of course, if you do not have the misfortune of being pulled over by some of the more rare female persons of the law!

Be advised of what our class secretary, the beautiful and personable Linda Stultz said, after viewing the pictures of the Arizona Mini Reunions,  "I wish I looked like Cathy Cassedy Lyons!"

I-10 Exit 194 is about halfway between Phoenix and Tucson.  If we both left at the same time, who would get there first for a hamburger at the southwest’s famous
In-N-Out hamburger place?

I rest my case.

Oh, Sweet John and the very generous beautiful, personable Linda Stultz, it is the power of persuasion....but come to think of it the last ticket I couldn't talk my way out of was way back 50,000 miles ago in the U.P. The cruiser going in the opposite direction turned around(I didn't think they would do that) and SHE did give me a ticket.......but reduced it down to no points after I extolled the beauty of Northern Mi.,blah, blah, blah. I pride myself on being an efficient driver, safe, but efficient and just so you don't think I'm some maniac going more that 85 mph at midnight (10 mph over the posted speed limit that all of us scofflaws know we can get away with); I wasn't. But there was this itsy bitsy sign that looked like it fell off of a truck that happened to say construction zone. There was no construction, no 'constructors', no road moving yellow vehicles.....it was like maybe we'll get around to it tomorrow, next month or next year. Who could possible take notice. Isn't all of AZ in a construction zone? I rest MY case.
