Paul Lovchuk

Mr. Lovchuk was one of the truly underrated teachers in the English Department.

Writing in general was not my strong suit in high school, and senior english just was something I was not looking forward to.  In the end, senior english was for writing  a term paper, and to help prepare us for it, Mr. Lovchuk had us write some short stories on anything we wanted.  These stories were then read aloud to the class, and were then openly discussed by the rest of the class.  At first, I thought I was going to be ripped to shreds by both my classmates and Mr. Lovchuk, but it was done in a non-critical way and made one really feel good about what you tried to accomplish.  That did a great deal for me with self-esteem, and I've never forgotten that class.
